Dry Needling.

A technique used to treat muscle pain and dysfunction

Dry needling involves inserting thin needles (similar to acupuncture needles) into specific points on the body known as trigger points, which are areas of tightness and tenderness within muscles. Our physiotherapists typically insert these needles directly into the trigger points, causing a local twitch response, which can help release muscle tension and improve blood flow to the area.

Dry needling is believed to work by stimulating the body’s natural healing response and reducing pain signals sent to the brain. We often use dry needling in conjunction with other physiotherapy treatments as part of our comprehensive rehabilitation program.

Joint Mobilisation.

A manual therapy to improve joint function, reduce pain, and increase range of motion in joints

Joint mobilisation involves applying controlled, passive movements to a joint surface to restore normal movement patterns, reduce stiffness, and address dysfunction. Our physiotherapists use gentle, rhythmic pressure or oscillatory movements, graded based on your condition, targeting specific joints like the spine, shoulders, hips, knees, and ankles.

Joint mobilisation aims to:

  • Fix how joints move to reduce pain and improve function.
  • Make surrounding tissues more flexible for better movement.
  • Reduce pain and swelling by improving blood flow.
  • Promote healing through movement.
